Bike Share Has Arrived in Fort Scott
The Healthy Bourbon County Action Team and Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce announce the Fort Scott Bike Share Program is officially up and running, according to Lindsay Madison, executive director of the Chamber.
Madison has facilitated the program in Fort Scott.
Residents may get a bike to ride at any of the following locations: Peerless Products, Inc.,2403 S. Main; Nate’s Place Restaurant & Lounge, at the northwest corner of 8th Street and National Avenue; and Fort Scott Community College,2108 S. Horton and the Chamber231 E. Wall. The sites are called hubs.
“Riders can check out bikes at any of the hub locations,” Madison said. “The bikes can be returned to the same hub or one of the other hubs.”
Bikes were purchased with grant funds from the #BCBSKSPathways to Healthy Kansas Grant in support of the non-motorized transportation policy the City of Fort Scott commissioners approved.
CHAMBER COFFEE TO BE HOSTED BY SONIC DRIVE-IN
The weekly Chamber Coffee organized by the Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce for Thursday, July 21 will be hosted by Sonic Drive-In, 1705 S. National Ave. at 8 a.m.
Chamber members and guests are invited to attend for networking, refreshments, and to learn about products, services, or new offerings of the host business or organization. Members may make an announcement about their business, organization, or the community by donating one dollar towards the Chamber.

The Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the 2018 Good Ol’ Days Parade winners.
The Chamber would like to thank everyone who entered and participated in the parade, as well as parade chairman Gina Shelton, Chamber Board Member and Downtown Division Chair.
The Chamber would also like to thank the many volunteers who judged, marked the line-up, or otherwise assisted with the event. There were a variety of festive entries with the theme of “Fins, Feathers, and Furs”.

The Chamber invites everyone to enter upcoming community parades in 2018 including the Burke Street parade Wednesday, July 4th, Pioneer Harvest Fiesta parade Thursday, October 18th, Halloween parade Saturday, October 27th, Veterans parade Saturday, November 10th, and Christmas parade Tuesday, December 4th.
Thanks again to the participants and volunteers. The Chamber organizes the Good Ol’ Days parade, Halloween parade and the Christmas parade; the other parades are run by those organizations and volunteers.

GRAND OPENING AND RIBBON-CUTTING OF THE BOILER ROOM BREWHAUS

FORT SCOTT – The Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce announces a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to celebrate the Grand Re-opening of The Boiler Room Brewhaus in their new location of 10 S. National Ave. The ceremony will take place this Saturday, June 2, 2018, at 1:45 pm, just prior to the official opening of the business at 2 pm.
Tickets to the Grand Re-opening event are not required but are free and may be obtained through The Boiler Room Brewhaus Facebook page. Those with tickets will have reserved seating. Attendees must be 21-years-old to sample or purchase alcoholic beverages; soda, tea, and water will also be available. Minors are allowed but must have adult supervision.
The Chamber invites members and the community to attend and congratulate the Ritter’s on the re-opening and expansion of the Brewhaus. The owner of the building known as the former “Downtowner Motel”, Josh Jones, is also to be commended for investing in upgrades to the property located in the Historic District.
