Quarterly Downtown Meet & Greet scheduled for July 9th!

The Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce announces a Downtown Meet & Greet will be held Tuesday, July 9th from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at Cohn’s Cafe,

110 South Main .

These informal, quarterly meetings are hosted by the Chamber for downtown business owners, representatives, and community members to network and share ideas on events, promotion and anything related to downtown.

Coffee, juice, and light refreshments will be served.

Community Connection Panelist Luncheon

Wednesday, June 12th, from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Empress Event Center, 7 N. Main St.

Chamber members and the community are invited to hear 7-minute updates by the following entities: City of Fort Scott, Bourbon County, Fort Scott Community College, USD-234 and USD-235 School Districts, and Bourbon County REDI

The event is free to attend but registration is requested. Box lunches are available by pre-order for $10.

The Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce invites members and guests to a Chamber Coffee hosted Perry’s Pork Rinds and Country Store, June 6th at 8am. Perry’s Pork Rinds and Country Store is located at 702 Pine Street in Bronson, Kansas. Be sure to leave Fort Scott by 7:40am as it approximately a 20-minute drive but you do not want to miss it! Coffee, juice, and refreshments will be served, and attendees may register to win a special drawing.

Perry’s Pork Rinds started in 2017 as a home-based business making and selling pork rinds, and in 2022 they built a brand-new storefront and production facility. Their product can be ordered at the store or online in a variety of different flavors. Perry’s Pork Rinds now has produce boxes filled with 9 types of produce in each box at a discount price. Perry’s does custom orders for bulk foods for churches and community organizations, for concession stands and other type of events.

The Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce invites members and guests to a Chamber Coffee hosted by the Fort Scott Good Ol’ Days Committee, Thursday, May 30th at 8 a.m. on Skubitz Plaza, Downtown Fort Scott. Coffee, juice, and light refreshments will be served along with door prizes.

 

Shawn O’Brien, Chairman, and the Good Ol’ Days committee are excited to celebrate the 43rd Annual Good Ol’ Days festival with the theme of Where Our History Comes to Life.

Tickets are on sale at the Chamber of Commerce for the Good Ol’ Chicken Dinner with a deadline of Friday, May 31st at 12pm. Meal pick up will be behind the Lowell Milken Center on Friday the 31st from 4:30pm-6pm. The $10 ticket includes 2 pieces of chicken, 2 sides, bread, and a bottle of water. The Chamber is also taking entries for the Good Ol’ Days Parade planned for 6pm Friday, May 31st. The full schedule of events may be found on the festival website fortscottgoodoldays.com.

Chamber members and guests are invited to Chamber Coffee events each Thursday at 8 a.m. to network, make announcements, hear about happenings in the community as well as learn about the host business or organization.

The Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce invites members and guests to a Chamber Coffee hosted by Shead Farm, 2468 Cavalry Road, on Thursday, May 16th at 8am. Coffee, juice, and refreshments will be served, and attendees may register to win a special drawing. It will take you about 15-20 minutes to get there from Fort Scott, so we suggest you leave town by 7:40am! Go South on 69 Highway to Cavalry Road, turn east and follow the signs.

Shead Farm is hosting their 4th Annual Shead Farm Homestead Festival THIS Saturday from 10am-6pm. There will be music, children’s activities, farm tours, farm store and vendor booths, and a food court. A wonderful outing that ALL ages will enjoy! Admission: single ticket – $5 or family pass $25 (5+ members).
