The Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce invites members and guests to a Chamber Coffee hosted by CarHelp Full-Service Repair Shop, 1114 S. Clark St., located in the 5 Corners Mini-Mart complex at 12th and Clark Streets, just off of 69 highway, this Thursday, July 10th at 8am. Coffee, juice, and light refreshments will be served, and attendees may register to win a special drawing.

CarHelp is owned by Leroy Walker and Lori Lovelace and offers a wide range of auto repair services. With over 35 years combined experience, Leroy, along with Mechanical Technician Andrew Burenheide specialize in brakes, struts, tune-ups, A/C servicing, and more. CarHelp is also a BG dealer and a local outlet for U-Haul truck and trailer rentals.

Chamber Downtown Meet and Greet is July 8

Quarterly Downtown Meet & Greet scheduled for July 8th!

The Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce announces a Downtown Meet & Greet will be held Tuesday, July 8th at Landmark National Bank, 200 S. Main St., from 8-9am.

These informal, quarterly meetings are hosted by the Chamber for downtown business owners, representatives, and community members to network and share ideas on events, promotions and anything related to downtown. Coffee, juice, and light refreshments will be served.

The Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce invites members and guests to a Chamber Coffee hosted by Better in Bourbon, 13 N. Main St., this Thursday, June 26th at 8am. Coffee, juice, and refreshments will be served, and attendees may register

to win a special drawing.

Better in Bourbon, owned by Rachel Pruitt, opened in December of 2021 in the Downtown Historic District. The retail store is a boutique that specializes in women’s and tween-sized clothing and accessories. They also offer permanent jewelry in addition to their everyday and holiday collections. Customers can shop online on their website at any time at betterinbourbon.com. Rachel, a Fort Scott High School alumna, is offering custom Tiger t-shirts for sale in honor of the all-school reunion being held this weekend.

The Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce invites members and guests to a Chamber Coffee hosted by Kale Nelson State Farm, celebrating twenty years in business in Fort Scott. The Coffee and celebration will be held at the State Farm office, 1805 S. National Ave., this Thursday, June 19th at 8am. Coffee, juice, and refreshments will be served, and attendees may register to win a special drawing.

Kale Nelson is excited to celebrate twenty years with State Farm along with his wife, Kelly, and his team members, Peter Brody, Rita Schroeder, and Monica Walden. Kale opened his agency on July 1, 2005, at 20 W. Wall St., which is now the site of the new Kansas Department for Children and Families. In 2012, Kale moved his office to the 5 Corners complex at 12th and Hwy. 69 and finally settled at his current location, 1805 S. National Ave., in 2019. Kale and his team offer auto, home, life, health, and other insurance and financial services.

The Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce invites members and guests to a Chamber Coffee hosted by The Artificers this Thursday, June 12th at 8am, 8 N. National Ave., in the Downtown Historic District. Coffee, juice, and refreshments will be served, and attendees may register to win a special drawing.

Kate and Trent Freeman are excited to host everyone and share current happenings with The Artificers, Bourbon County Clay, and The Queen’s Muse.  Coffee, juice, and refreshments will be served, and attendees may register to win a special drawing.

  • This Friday, June 13th, Trent will be doing a Raku firing workshop from 6-8pm where you can create a unique piece from the fire, limited spots are available.
  • Next Thursday, June 19th, they will be hosting a Paint with Katie, Hueston that is, which will be a peony flower painting.
  • Saturday, June 21st is Glaze Day from 10am to 3pm.

The Artificers now features an online gallery where you can shop art 24/7 from your home at theartificers.com. They are currently featuring a special Fort Scott coffee mug on bourboncountyclay.com in preparation of the Fort Scott High School All School Reunion to be held June 27th-29th.
