The Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce invites members and guests to a Chamber Coffee and Ribbon Cutting to celebrate the new and expanded location of Fort Scott Rides, 702 E. Wall Street. Coffee, juice, and light refreshments will be served.

Fort Scott Rides LLC is a family-owned dealership that opened its doors in September 2022. Matt Harvey, Owner, and son Tyler Harvey, Manager, sell pre-owned cars, trucks, motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, golf carts, and more. If they don’t have what a customer is looking for in stock, they will help find it. They also started offering tire sales and repair services as of this week and hope to add auto detailing in the future. Hours of operation are 8:30am-5:30pm Monday through Friday and 9am-1pm on Saturday. Visit their website fortscottrides.com for current inventory or follow their Facebook page.

Chamber Coffees are held each Thursday at 8am for members to network, make announcements, and learn about the host business or organization. Contact the Chamber of Commerce at (620) 223-3566 for more information or to inquire about available dates for hosting a Coffee.

The Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce invites members and guests to the Chamber Coffee and Ribbon Cutting to celebrate the Grand Re-Opening and Expansion of Laree + Co, located at 3 S. National Ave, this Thursday, August 3rd at 8am. Coffee, juice, and a breakfast charcuterie board will be available.

Laree + Co is the leading children’s clothing brand known for designing adorable and comfortable outfits for medically complex children. The company donates 10% of each purchase to the Lillian Rose Foundation, providing funeral funding for medically complex children. The expansion of Laree + Co will now offer an extensive range of women’s clothing, including a plus size collection, gift items, and an array of self-care products, such as luxurious bath products from Barr + Co. and premium candles from Voluspa. Laree + Co is offering exclusive access to shop before the public reopening event, which is on Saturday, August 5th.

Community Connection Panelist Luncheon!

The Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Community Connection Panelist Luncheon on Wednesday, July 26th, from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Empress Event Center, 7 N. Main St. Chamber members and the community are invited to attend for updates on things that are happening in the community!

The event is free to attend but registration is requested. Box lunches are available by pre-order for $10 and those need to be ordered by July 25th at 10am. Those planning to attend may RSVP online at fortscott.com under the events tab.

There will be a 7-minute update from each of the following panelists, ending with time for questions:

Chamber Coffee hosted by Woodland Hills Golf Course on July 27

The Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce invites members and guests to the Chamber Coffee this Thursday, July 27th at 8am.

This week’s coffee will be hosted by Woodland Hills Golf Course located at 2414 Horton St.

Coffee and light refreshments will be served.

Fort Scott’s Woodland Hills Golf Course was named a Top 10 golf course in Kansas by Best Things Kansas and number 6 in the entire state.

Woodland Hills has also been named one of the best municipal courses in Kansas. Woodland Hills is an 18-hole park-style course, winding through beautiful scenery, with elevation changes and some of the best views in Bourbon County.

Come enjoy one of Southeast Kansas’s hidden treasures at the Woodland Hills Golf Course.

Sales Tax Holiday: Aug. 4-5 in Fort Scott

The Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce an opportunity for shoppers to save money August 4th through the 5th. Select retailers will be offering a Sales Tax Holiday by volunteering to pay the sales tax for shoppers.  Enjoy a 9.4% discount at these participating merchants: 110 South Main, Angie Dawn’s Boutique, Bids & Dibs, Hedgehog.INK, Laree + Co, Papa Don’s Pizza, Ruddick’s Furniture & Flooring (up to $500 of sales),  Shirt Shack and Sunshine Boutique. These stores offer a variety of merchandise including apparel, home furnishings and décor – both new and repurposed, school supplies and much more. There is no need to cross the border during this No Sales Tax Holiday Weekend. Save money, shop local, shop Fort Scott.

The Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce invites members and guests to a Chamber Coffee hosted by the Bourbon County Fair Association, Thursday, July 20th at 8 a.m. at the Hubenett Pavilion on Fairgrounds located at 2102 S. Huntington Blvd. Coffee and refreshments will be served.

 

The Bourbon County Fairgrounds is alive year-round with a full schedule of exciting events for all interests! From the signature Bourbon County Fair and Pioneer Harvest Fiesta events to year-round camping in the Fort Scott area to the many other agricultural, college-related, and civic events. They couldn’t do all they do without their wonderful volunteers, donors, merchants, livestock buyers, contestants, 4H and Ag Agents. They also send out a big thank you to the spectators who grace their Fairground events each year and of course the fun-loving people who take advantage of our year-round camping facilities.
