  1. IT JUST AIN’T SO!
Taking credit for the $900,000 grant for Horton Street is an example of futility and reaching for a straw by REDI. This grant was proposed and submitted by city staff 4 years before there was a REDI. It was turned down in the first two years due to lack of information. The grant was funded after it was resubmitted by our city manager and our engineer the third time. One of the requirements was to obtain local support for the project and it was through the efforts of our city manager in obtaining letters of support from several entities. One of those entities happened to be REDI. There was no other input or effort provided and to proclaim any additional credit is deceiving the public, much like all the other claims, such as the Splash Pad. I notice the Nobel Health fiasco was not mentioned. IMO REDI was an idea that cost the citizens a lot of money, but proved to be a failure and needs to go away.
