This week’s Chamber Coffee will feature the announcement and recognition of the Foundation’s 2026 Competitive Grant recipients. The annual grant awards recognize local nonprofit organizations and the important work they do to strengthen Fort Scott and Bourbon County.
Since 2007, the Foundation has awarded more than $571,000 in competitive grants through its annual open application process, supporting projects and programs that make a meaningful difference throughout the community. Thanks to the generosity of local donors, total grants distributed through the Foundation have exceeded $3.9 million.
The Foundation looks forward to recognizing this year’s grant recipients and celebrating the power of neighbors investing in neighbors. These grants reflect its continued commitment to supporting local organizations, improving quality of life, and making a lasting impact throughout the Fort Scott area.
The Foundation also encourages the community to participate in Match Week, November 9-13, 2026. Thanks to the generosity of the Patterson Foundation, contributions made to the Fort Scott Area Community Foundation during Match Week will be matched, amplifying the impact of each donation and providing additional support for local initiatives.
