John Slater, age 85, a resident of Hiattville, Kansas, passed away Monday, August 17, 2026, at the Medicalodge of Ft. Scott.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, August 29th at the Cheney Witt Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 P.M. Friday, August 28th at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Private burial will take place at a later date at the Memorial Hill Cemetery in Waynoka, Oklahoma.
Memorials are suggested to either the Slater Scholarship Fund at Northwest Technology Center or to the Ft. Scott Community College Livestock Judging Team and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, P.O. Box 347, Ft. Scott, KS 66701.
